Centaur is a virgin activated carbon that does not rely on metal impregnates to provide catalytic activity. The adsorptive pore structure is similar to conventional activated carbon products, however, Centaur is manufactured by a patented process that results in modifying the electronic properties. It has 10 to 100 times more surface sites for electronic transfer and this provides its enhanced catalytic functionality.

Centaur promotes a range of chemical reactions where conventional carbons are not effective. This product is especially suited for removal of Hydrogen Sulfide (rotten egg) odors.

All Auto Backwashing Centaur Carbon Filter systems have the following components: (unless otherwise specified)

Specified resin tank size with 1" riser tube

Specified amount of Centaur Carbon resin

Fleck 5600 or 2510 3/4" Timer Control Backwash valve OR Fleck 2750 1" Timer Control Backwash valve OR Fleck 7000 1-1/4" Electronic Timer Control Backwash valve. For the Fleck 5600 or 2510 3/4" valves only: Your choice of one of the following six connections: 3/4" or 1" Noryl Yoke, 3/4" or 1" Stainless Steel Yoke, 3/4" or 1" Stainless Steel Bypass Valve. (Note: the Fleck 2750 1" valve is directly connected to. If you need to bypass the filter system, you must construct your own plumbing bypass configuration).  The Fleck 7000 1-1/4" valve comes standard with a 1" NPT PVC connection and a bypass valve.  The Clack WS1 Electronic Control valve comes with a bypass valve and your choice of one of the following four connections: 1" PVC NPT Male Thread Connectors (straight or elbow), 3/4" or 1" brass sweat adaptor.

The only item you have to supply is the 1/2" inside diameter drain line from the valve to your drain.
