There is a daylight drain right in the corner so I just ran PVC for the backwash.

Our filter arrived yesterday afternoon. I did the install this morning. Only took about an hour.
Enclosed are photos of my install. It was just a matter of disconnecting the old unit at the bypass valve and reconnecting the new unit as the control heads are mechanically the same.
